What we collect, why we need it, and how to make us delete it. There are no trackers on this site and nothing to sell.

OmniTaught LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company, operates OmniTaught and decides how the information described here is used. Questions, requests, and complaints go to service@omnitaught.org.

We do not collect your date of birth, home address, phone number, government identifiers, or payment card numbers, and we do not store raw IP addresses. When payments open, card details will be handled entirely by our payment processor and will never touch our servers.
OmniTaught is offline-first. Your lessons, your progress, and any course you built are stored in your browser's local storage so the app keeps working without a connection.
That local copy is yours. Clearing your browser data removes it. If you have an account, your progress is also on our server, so signing in on a new device brings it back.
Two features send text to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude models. Both only happen when you ask for them, and neither runs in the background.
The Topic Genie. When you build a course, the goal, background, and context you typed are sent so the lessons can be written.
My Words. The app carries a dictionary on your device and answers almost every lookup without going online at all. When you double-click a word it does not have, and only then, that single word is sent along with the one sentence it appeared in, so the definition matches the meaning you actually met. The sentence comes from the lesson you are reading, not from anything you wrote. This is capped at twenty lookups a day.
In both cases we send the text and nothing else. We do not send your name, your email, your account id, or your progress.
Anthropic processes it as our service provider under their commercial terms. Anthropic does not use data submitted through their business API to train their models.
Please do not put anything into a wish, or into a word list note, that you would not want processed by a third party: no client details, no patient information, no anything covered by HIPAA or FERPA. OmniTaught is a study tool, not a clinical system, and it is not built to hold protected health information.
We do not use tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
We store two things in your browser: a session token so you stay signed in, and your app data so it works offline. Both are functional, both stay on your device, and neither follows you to other websites.
The site honors your browser's reduced-motion and dark-mode preferences, which are read locally and never transmitted.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we discover a breach that affects your information, we will email you promptly and tell you what happened and what to do.
If you find a security problem, please report it to service@omnitaught.org before disclosing it publicly. We will thank you sincerely.
The first and third are buttons in the app, so they are immediate. For anything else, email service@omnitaught.org. We aim to answer within a few days and will not charge you or make it difficult.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. We extend the choices above to everyone regardless of where they live, because drawing a line there seemed wrong.
OmniTaught is built for adults and for students preparing for college entrance and professional exams. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
If you are between 13 and 18, please get a parent's or guardian's permission before creating an account.
If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
We will not start selling your data. If that ever changed, it would not be this company anymore.
